„Dieter Heitkamp is a professor for contemporary dance at the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main and the director of the BAtanz. He is a member of the International Theater Institute and the Hessian Theater Academy and was a founding member and collective member of Tanzfabrik Berlin and one of its artistic directors until 1995. Heitkamp worked as a guest choreographer for the Frankfurt Ballet and created choreography and stage design for the ballet "Le Disperazioni del Signor Pulcinella" (music: Hans Werner Henze) at the Staatsoper Unter the Linden Berlin.

His choreographies have been shown throughout Germany, in fifteen European countries, Canada, the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Brazil. For 39 years he has been intensively involved in the study, teaching, documentation and performance of Contact Improvisation.“

MACHETANZ_ different perspectives on dance making, aspects of composition, use of scores and questions for creating dances.

„Dieter Heitkamp is a professor for contemporary dance at the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main and the director of the BAtanz. He is a member of the International Theater Institute and the Hessian Theater Academy and was a founding member and collective member of Tanzfabrik Berlin and one of its artistic directors until 1995. Heitkamp worked as a guest choreographer for the Frankfurt Ballet and created choreography and stage design for the ballet "Le Disperazioni del Signor Pulcinella" (music: Hans Werner Henze) at the Staatsoper Unter the Linden Berlin.

His choreographies have been shown throughout Germany, in fifteen European countries, Canada, the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Brazil. For 39 years he has been intensively involved in the study, teaching, documentation and performance of Contact Improvisation.“

„The Kinesthetic Body 

Combining improvisation with reactionary and perceptual training, these classes are geared towards the professional dancer who is interested in training solo improvisation by seeking out non premeditated movement. Training full body movement qualities, we will work towards mapping the body through sensory expansion. We will challenge our agility and reflexes by layering qualities of movement in relation to gravity and momentum. We will play with time and space while moving in kinesthetic states.“
